A copilot to build voice agents by telling it what you need

How to use a copilot to build voice agents, step by step. You tell Maite in your own words, she prepares the agent and you confirm every change.

What a copilot for building voice agents is

A voice agent needs a few pieces to work well. Instructions, which it follows on every call, sometimes a flow with the steps of the conversation, the documents it looks things up in, and the connection to your calendar. Building it by hand means filling in each piece on its own screen.

A copilot is an assistant that builds it with you from what you tell her, in your own words. In Lera she's called Maite and she lives inside the panel. You explain what you want your agent to do, and she prepares the pieces and shows them to you.

Picture a hair salon. You write "I run a hair salon and I want the agent to book appointments". Maite asks if you keep your diary in Cal.com, and you say yes and that your prices are on your website. She reads the website, writes the agent's instructions, connects your calendar and shows you each change before saving it.

What it's good for

Building an agent without knowing where each setting goes. You talk to her as you would to a person and she knows which piece to change.

Not starting from scratch. Give her your website and she pulls out the business name, services, frequently asked questions and tone, and uses them to write complete instructions.

Improving the agent with real calls. Ask her which calls went worst this week and she tells you what happened, why, and what she'd change.

And checking your figures without hunting for them, like how many minutes you've used this month.

How to use it, step by step

Open Maite from the panel menu. You'll also find her inside every agent, in the side panel next to Test, where she works directly on that agent.

Tell her about your business and what you want the agent to do. Type it or dictate it with the mic, just as you'd say it to a person. If you have a website, give her the address.

Review what she proposes. Every time she's about to change something in your agent, she shows you a card with what she'll do and waits. Click Confirm action to go ahead, or cancel it.

Try it out. In Test you can talk to your agent by audio or type to it, as if you were a customer. If something isn't right, tell Maite in your own words, for example "when someone asks for a colour, ask whether it's their first time".

When you're happy with it, ask her to publish it. Until you publish, the agent is a draft. Publishing is what makes it answer with the new version, and it asks for your confirmation too.

What she can do for you

Create a new agent, voice or chat, and write its instructions.

Build or change its flow, which is its step-by-step script, and adjust each step.

Connect your Cal.com calendar so the agent can check free slots and book appointments. She'll ask for your Cal.com account key and the appointment type.

Add your website to the knowledge base, which is the set of documents the agent looks things up in to answer. A web page is re-read automatically every twelve hours, so if you change a price the agent knows.

Set your opening hours, bank holidays and time off, and set up when the call is passed to someone on your team.

Review your calls and analytics, and explain what she'd change and why.

What to know

You get up to 25 free messages a day for the whole account, adding up everyone on the team. They come back the next day.

If you need more on a given day, an Administrator can turn on continuing at €0.20 per message. It comes out of your balance, or out of your trial credit while you have it. If nobody turns it on, your free messages are back the next day.

Looking and asking need no confirmation. Changing your agents, such as creating one, editing its flow or publishing it, always asks for your confirmation.

If you ask her to test the agent by text, each test is charged like an agent message, the same as the text tests you run yourself.

People who sign in as Editor use her to build agents, without the phone actions. People who sign in as Viewer can ask her things, but she won't make changes for them.

Maite doesn't handle payments, top-ups or cards. That's done in Settings.

She answers in the panel's language, and the agents she creates start out in that language.

Maite and her free messages are the same on every plan. If you're on a plan, Cal.com and the knowledge base come with all of them, and connecting the agent to your own software starts from the Professional plan.

Frequently asked questions

Does Maite change things without asking me? No. Looking at the setup or at your calls she does on her own. Any change to your agents, like creating one, editing its flow or publishing it, she proposes and waits for you to click Confirm action.

What happens when I use up the free messages? They come back the next day. If you need to carry on that same day, an Administrator of the account can turn on paid messages.

Can she fix an agent I already have? Yes. Open her inside the agent and she works on it. Ask her to review the latest calls and she'll tell you what she'd change and why.

Do I need to know about voice agents? No. You talk about your business and she works out which piece to change. What you do is review and confirm.

How much does it cost to try? €20 free credit, no card needed. Maite's 25 free messages a day are on top of that, during the trial too.
