What team roles and permissions are
When several people work with your voice agent, they don't all need the same things. Some just want to see how calls went, others fine-tune the agent, and someone decides about phone numbers and what gets paid.
That's why in Lera each person signs in with their own user, their email and password, and a role. The role is the permission you give them, what they can see and what they can change. It isn't just about hiding a button. Whatever their role doesn't allow, they can't do by any other route either.
Picture a customer service team. The person in charge is an Administrator. Whoever builds and adjusts the agent signs in as Editor. And the rest of the team, who go through the overnight calls every morning, sign in as Viewers. Everyone sees what they need and nobody changes the agent by accident.
The three roles, one by one
Viewer. Sees the agents, the call history with each call's transcript and summary, and the analytics. Changes nothing, and can't test the agent either, because every test is charged. Doesn't see prices or amounts. Can ask Maite, the panel's assistant, questions, but she won't make changes for them.
Editor. As well as seeing, builds. Creates and adjusts agents, their instructions, flow, functions, integrations, knowledge bases and voices, tests them and publishes them. Sees what each call costs, so they can choose the model and voice knowing what's being paid. What they don't touch is phone numbers, lines or outbound calls, and they don't see the balance, top-ups or billing. In Settings they only see their Profile and their own API keys.
Administrator. Can do everything. Invites and manages the team, sets up numbers and lines, launches outbound calls, creates keys and looks after the balance and billing.
How to invite your team, step by step
Go to Settings and open the Team tab. Only an Administrator can see it.
Click Invite users and enter the person's email.
Choose their Role. Viewer is selected by default, as the safest option, and you can switch it to Editor or Administrator.
Click Send. That person gets an email with a single-use link that's valid for 7 days.
When they open it, if they don't have a Lera account, they create their password and they're in. Nobody emails them a password. If they already had an account, they sign in with it.
Until they accept, they show as Pending. If the email didn't arrive, click Resend and they'll get a new link, and the old one stops working. If you picked the wrong person, Revoke invitation cancels it.
To change the role of someone who's already in, use Change role on the same tab. It applies from that moment.
The keys that connect your own software
An API key is a long password that one of your programs, like your CRM or an automation, uses to work with Lera without going through the panel. In Lera they're personal. Each one belongs to whoever created it and always has the permissions that person has today, not the ones they had when they created it.
If you move an Editor to Viewer, their key can no longer change agents. If an Administrator stops being one, their keys are cancelled. And if someone leaves the team, theirs stop working. That way, when a person leaves, they don't keep an open door into your account.
Editors create and revoke their own keys in Settings, on the API Keys tab, and only see their own. Administrators see all of them, each with its owner.
What to know
Only an Administrator can invite, and the link only works for the email it was sent to. If someone forwards it to another person, it won't work for them.
You can't change your own role, and the project can never be left without an Administrator. If you're the only one, appoint another before stepping down.
To remove someone, use Remove from project. If they weren't in any other project, their user is deleted, and if they ever come back, you invite them again with the same email.
You can send up to 50 invitations a day per project, resends included.
Conversations with Maite belong to each person. What's shared is the account's allowance of free messages.
Inviting your team comes with every plan. If you're on a plan, connecting your software through the API is part of the Advanced plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can my team see the calls without touching the agent? Yes, with the Viewer role. They see the agents, the calls and the analytics, and can't change anything.
Can I change someone's role later? Yes, with Change role on the Team tab. What you can't do is change your own role or leave the project without an Administrator.
Can an Editor use Maite? Yes. They use her to build and adjust agents. What they don't get are the phone actions, just like in the rest of the panel.
Does an Editor see what I spend? They see the price of each call, but not the balance, trial credit, top-ups or invoices.
How much does it cost to try? €20 free credit, no card needed. Invite someone from your team as a Viewer and have them review the calls from your tests.
